Summary
Born at Pittsburgh, PA; deafened in her early teens; attended St. Mary's School for the Deaf (Buffalo) and graduated Gallaudet College (1928). Taught at St. Mary's School for 2 years, then worked at the Hispanic Society of America until poor health forced her retirement in 1966. Was married for a while under the name Stein, but soon took back her maiden name. Was a translator and wrote scholarly articles on Hispanic art and culture for the Society's journal.
