Summary
Born deaf in Manhattan, NY; began in regular public schools, then for grades 2-6 went to a parochial school for the hearing. By high school, he had been mainstreamed back into regular public schools and graduated John F. Kennedy HS in the Bronx in 1983. 1983-1984, State University of New York, College at Westbury, then Lehman College of the City University of New York beginning in 1986, majoring in chemistry with an eye towards the medical field. Also taught remedial and continuing-education students while in college himself; hoped to complete his B.S. in 1990 and go on to Cornell University for advanced study.
