Summary
Attended Penn State University for a journalism degree. Worked as an outreach specialist for the Virginia Department for the Deaf and the Hard of Hearing and also taught at Shenandoah University. In the 1980s, became executive director of the Northern Virginia Resource Center for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Persons, and was active in other activist and consumer organizations for the deaf and hard of hearing. In 2006, became a member of the Gallaudet University Board of Trustees. Autobiography is Seeds of Disquiet (1992).
