Colby, Collins C.

Graduated the Michigan School for the deaf in 1876, then worked in the printing business. In 1880, started the short-lived semimonthly Michagan Deaf-Mute Itemizer. Moved to Detroit, 1881, then Chicago, 1884, where he eventually worked at the University of Chicago Press. Chicago correspondent for the Deaf mute's journal. Married L. Magdalene Gottschlag in 1884.
