Summary
Hearing. Succeeded his father, Markus Reich (q.v.) as head of the Israelische Taubstummenanstalt fur Deutschland (Israelite Institution for the Deaf of Germany) in 1919. After the Nazis took power in Germany in 1933, the school and its students and staff were increasingly persecuted; Reich ultimately took himself and 8 students out of Germany to England for safety. His plans to bring out more deaf students were blocked by the outbreak of World War II. Ironically, Felix Reich was arrested and interned by the British because he had served as a German military officer during World War I.
