Summary
One of two deaf brothers, he was the son of a famous Scottish painter. Educated at the Glasgow Institution for the Deaf and Dumb; employed for a time as an artist for the Glasgow Weekly Mail. In 1906, became missioner to the deaf persons of East Lancashire and remained in that position until his death.
