Summary
Graduated South Dakota School for the Deaf 1977; while there, ran for the track team, winning several state competitions, and also participated in basketball and cross-country. Selected for participation in the 1975 Pan American Games for the Deaf, bringing back three gold and one silver medal. At the 1976 World Games for the Deaf, he participated in the decathlon but did not take a medal. Broke the world deaf record for men's decathlon in 1977 and brought home several medals from the 1977 World Games for the Deaf.
