Summary
Attended the Manitoba Institution for the Education of the Deaf and Dumb 1893-1905 and Kendall School for the Deaf 1905-1907. Passed the Canadian civil service exam in 1906 and took a job in the Canadian Post Office Dept., but got leave to attend Gallaudet College, earning a B.A. (1912). Returned to the Post Office, but soon studied chemistry as a special student at the University of Manitoba. Got a new job as a chemist in 1920, but lost the job when the company failed less than a year later. Took a new job with the Inland Revenue Dept. in Ottawa, then the Food and Drug Laboratories, Department of Health, Ottawa until retirement in 1953.
