Born at Victor (MT?); deaf at age 14 from scarlet fever; graduated a school for the deaf in Boulder, CO. Helped found the Montana Assciation of the Deaf in 1912. Worked as a seamstress in Butte, MT. Married Bob Ryan in 1920, raising cattle with him. Became noted for sewing leather gloves and fringed jackets. Moved to Great Falls, MT in 1969 after her husband's death; lived in a nursing home from 1991 to her death.
