Summary
Born hearing in Middlesex; aspirations to become a composer were dashed when she became deaf at age 10 or 12 from scarlet fever. Switching her focus to art, she did some painting, and also was designer for the Royal School of Art Needlework. Lived and worked for 25 years with novelist Rosa Nouchette Carey. Published a small volume of poems and some verses and stories for children, and worked for a time as an editor for a publisher of children's books. Works included Driftwood: A Book of Poems and The Deaf Girl Next Door, or Marjory's Life Work.
