Summary
Was painted by deaf artist Joseph Henry Sharp (q.v.) about 1904-1906. He appears to have communicated with the artist in a mixture of American Sign Language and Plains Indian Sign Language. The chief's portrait hangs today in the Thomas Gilcrease Institute of American History and Art in Tulsa, OK.
