Summary
Deafened gradually from ages 7 to 11. Attended the Kansas Institution for the deaf 1883-1887, then transferred to the Illinois School for the deaf for one term. Wrote many articles for such well-known periodicals as the Waverly Magazine, Woman's Companion, Mankind, and others. Some of her poems were actually set to music.
