Summary
Also nicknamed Pintorrichio (sometimes spelled Pinturrichio); another nickname was Sordicchio or Surdicchio. Born at Perugia; deafened in his youth. Studied art with fellow student Raphael; noted for frescoes and altarpieces in several Italian cities, including Rome, the Vatican, and Siena; died at Siena. Works include The Miracles of St. Bernardin in Rome, and frescoes (done jointly with Vanucci) of Moses in the Sistine Chapel.
