Born deaf at Montreal, QC; Clarke School for the Deaf, then graduated Queen of Angels Academy in Dorval, QC. Gallaudet College (B.A.), Western Maryland College (M.Ed), California State University, Northridge (M.A., 1976), and McGill University (diploma, 1991). Worked at various educational positions; as of 2002, was employed as a teacher by the Mackay Centre for the Deaf. Spouse Norman Nelso was also deaf.
