Summary
Hearing. Born at Naples, Italy; ordained as a Catholic priest in 1871. Founded an institution for the deaf at Lecce in 1885 and another at Bari in 1897. Also founded the Salesian order of nuns. Beatified in 1996 and canonized in 2006.
