Edward, George

Born hard of hearing at Glasgow; educated orally, partly at the Glasgow Institution for the Deaf and Dumb and partly in the Van Asch school for the deaf in London. Studied art also, but went into jewelry making instead. Designer of various silver cups, challenge shields, and other trophies. Was a yachtsman himself, belonging to 3 yacht clubs and holding many prizes in yachting competition. Served as a director of the Glasgow Institute.
