Summary
Hearing. A Walloon, born at Tros Fontaines, near Blegny, now in the Netherlands. A clergyman in the Walloon (Protestant) church; became interested in deaf education, and learned teaching methods from the Abbe de l'Epee in France. Returned to Groningen and founded the first Dutch school for the deaf there, April 1790.
