Summary
Attended the Interprovincial School for the Education of the Deaf 1962-1974, then Gallaudet College 1974-1977. Was on the medal-winning Canadian volleyball team at the 1973 World Games for the Deaf. Her college studies, and her life, were cut short in 1977 when she was struck by a car in Halifax, NS. An Arlene Burris Memorial Bursary fund was set up to help deaf students go to college and to help hearing individuals study to work with deaf people.
