Summary
Deafened at 6 1/2; attended several private schools for the hearing before entering the New Jersey School for the Deaf. Left the NJ School in 1893 and went into printing, eventually acquiring a half interest in a job printing firm in Long Branch, NJ. His father later bought the other half and put his son in charge of the business.
