Bourget, Andre Joseph Henri

Born deaf at Haileybury, Ontario; Ontario School for the Deaf, Belleville 1945-1958; sign painter with the Ontario government 1958-1993. After 4 years of courses and training, in 1984 became the first deaf Canadian to serve as a Catholic deacon. Married Gertrude Mary Pauline Lacroix. Carved a wooden sculpture of Jesus as a gift to his church.
