Summary
Born on a farm in Saskatchewan and probably deafened by scarlet fever in infancy, though deafness was not diagnosed until age 2. Saskatchewan School for the Deaf until it closed in 1916, then transferred to the Manitoba School for the Deaf through graduation. Assisted on her family's farm until marrying deaf man Rupert J. Williams (q.v.) in 1928. Together with her husband, she was instrumental in the establishment of Saskatchewan's first and only school for the deaf in 1931, though unfortunately she lived long enough to see this school, later renamed for her husband, closed in 1991.
