Summary
Born at Indian Orchard, MA; deafened at 6 months from illness. Graduated Clarke School for the Deaf, 1960 and went through public high schools. Entered Gallaudet College, dropped out, then returned for a B.A. (1972); master's (1981) from California State University, Northridge. Worked for National Association of the Deaf, then as a VR counselor. Co-founder of Massachusetts State Association of the Deaf, then director of various deaf-related agencies until becoming executive director of Deaf Counseling and Referral Agency (DCARA) in California, 1981-199_?. As of 1999, teacher of deaf-related courses at Holyoke [MA] Community College.
