Born deaf at Middle Musquodoboit, NS; Interprovincial School for the Deaf age 4 until graduation 1987, then 2 years at the Atlantic Technological Vocational Centre. In 1989, was part of a protest against hearing domination at the Atlantic Provinces Resource Centre for the Hearing Handicapped.
