Summary
Born at Park City, UT; deaf at age 12. Utah School for the Deaf 1930-1935, then Gallaudet College for 2 years. After returning to Utah for a few years, moved to California in 1944. Met and married Mae Workman (q.v.) in 1945. After initial work as a dry cleaner, became a machinist for 13 years, then switched to teaching sign language in public school evening classes, 1964-1977. Also became an activist for the deaf, holding offices in the California Association of the Deaf and other deaf organizations. Retired in 1979 to Perris, CA.
