Bickle, Helen Joanne Stevens

Born deaf as Helen Joanne Stevens in Toronto; attended the Metro School for the Deaf (Toronto), Northern Secondary School, Sir Oliver Mowat Collegiate Institute, and Centennial College; also earned a business school certificate from Loyalist College. Married a hearing man; while raising a family, worked part-time for a deaf church ministry, becoming very active in deaf ministry and, in 1999, beginning part-time thological studies at Queen's University with the aim of becoming a minister herself. Also active in other Canadian deaf organizations.
