Tatman, Annie

Born at Arkadelphia, AR; deaf at age 3 from diptheria followed by scarlet fever. Central Institute for the Deaf, age 5-7, then regular public schools in Arkadelphia. Attended Washington University (St. Louis) and Ouachita Baptist University (Arkadelphia). Newspaper writer during her college summer vacations; taught dance also before giving those up for marriage and motherhood, though she remained active as a volunteer and speaker for disabled agencies.
