Dold, J. J.

Iowa native; deafened at age 8. Orphaned at age 11. Graduated the Iowa School for the Deaf, then in 1882 taught at the newly-established school for the deaf in the Dakota Territory (now South Dakota) for a year. To Kansas City, MO, working at undefined commercial jobs, studying at nights, continuing this in Wichita, KS. 1893 onward, appointed a teacher at the Kansas School for the Deaf. Married Eva Ore in 1896.
