Summary
Born at Scottsbluff, NE and deafened at age 15. Transferred to the Nebraska School for the Deaf and graduated in 1940. Bachelor's degree from University of Nebraska, Omaha, master's from the University of Chicago, and Ph.D. from University of Nebraska, Lincoln. Taught at Nebraska School for the Deaf, including coaching football and basketball teams. Wrapped up education career as a professor at the University of Nebraska prior to retirement. Active in state and national deaf and deaf education organizations and instrumental in the 1979 establishment of the Nebraska Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
