Seeger, Ruth Taubert

First American deaf woman to participate in the World Games for the Deaf, 1957 (at the age of 33). Coach and teacher at the Texas School for the Deaf from 1949 until retirement in 1986; active in local, national, and international deaf sports. The gymnasium at the Texas School is named in her honor.
