Deaf at 10; oral classes at the Clinton St. Public School 1941-1945 and the Central Technical School 1945-1948, both in Toronto. A self-taught photographer; worked for photography businesses and later learned camera repair, working at that trade several years in NJ and FL before returning to Canada. His bird photographs were widely published, and other photographs won local and international awards. Married Dorothy Grace Tate.
