Born at Montreal; deafness from unknown causes not discovered until age 5. Montreal Oral School for the Deaf, La Salle [QC] Catholic Comprehensive High School, McGill University (B.A.), York University (B.Ed.), and Dawson College (teaching certificate and college diploma). Held a variety of part-time and temporary positions, some with social service agencies and charitable organizations. Fluent in both ASL and LSQ.
