Mihalik, Barbara Ann Mary Buckler

Born at Montreal, QC; deaf around 2 or 3 years of age from whooping cough, then adopted by a foster family. Attended and graduated the Mackay Centre for the Deaf, then took additional office training and computer courses before going to work at Canada Post as an office clerk. She married Peter Mihalik, also deaf. She then worked for Sun Life of Canada, 1997 until her death after a long battle with breast cancer, which had been diagnosed at an advanced stage in 1995.
