Summary
Canada's first deaf M.D. and first deaf chiropractist, and one of only four people in all of Canada to have both medical and chiropractic degrees. Deaf at birh from maternal rubella; attended the Mulvey School oral program for the deaf, then mainstreamed classes in a public high school, graduating 1975. B.A. from the University of Winnipeg, 1980; D.C. (doctor of chiropractice) in 1984 from Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College. Opened a chiropractic office in Toronto, specializing in sports medicine, and served on the faculty of a chiropractic college in Toronto. In 1990, entered the McMaster University Medical School, completing his M.D. in 1993. Interned in a family medicine residency program beginning in 1993.
