Deafened at age 14 while living in Bangkok, Thailand. Graduate W.T. Woodson High School in Fairfax, VA, then California State University, Northridge. Was a teacher of deaf children and deaf adults for 18 years. Wrote several collective biographies of deaf people: Successful Deaf Americans, Courageous Deaf Adults, Living Legends, Living Legends II, and Living Legends III.
