Summary
Born at Richmond, Iowa; lost his hearing at age 8. Graduated the Iowa School for the deaf in 1885 and then Gallaudet College, 1890. Taught at the Louisiana School for the deaf (1890-1920) and the Mississippi School for the Deaf (1920-1926); married Lizzie Lee Woods in 1894. Became a missionary of the Protestant Episcopal Church; died at Washington, DC.
