Summary
Hearing. B.S. (1915) and M.A. (1917) from Columbia University; at Gallaudet College, was a "normal" (graduate) student (1916), earned an M.A. (1921), received an honorary Litt.D. (1946) from Gallaudet; teacher at Gallaudet beginning in 1916, dean 1939-53, vice president 1953-6; also editor of the American Annals of the Deaf 1920-1943. After retirement from Gallaudet College, served several years as staff psychologist at the California School for the Deaf, Berkeley.
