Fredland, Leila Ruth McEachern

Deaf from illness at age 3 months; born on a farm near Tatsfield, SK. Saskatchewan School for the Deaf, 1941-graduation 1953. Worked for the Alberta provincial government as a clerk-typist 3 years, then as a clerk-stenographer at Namao military base 1956-1963. Paused to become a mother, then returned to the workforce in 1966 as a civil servant in the Edmonton, AB city hall until 1989. Worked for Canada Post another 10 years until final retirement in 2000. Was active in local deaf sports and deaf organizations.
