Summary
B.S. from Gallaudet College. Teacher at the Wisconsin School for the Deaf 1956, then in a California mainstreamed program, then principal of a regional high school/day school program for deaf and hard of hearing students in California. Master's degree in 1965 from the National Leadership Training Program, returned to that program as an instructor in 1972, then joined the National Center on Deafness (NCOD) at California State University-Northridge in 1979, becoming NCOD's director from 1990 until retirement in 1998. Was host for 10 years of the Emmy Award-winning cable TV talk show for the deaf, Off Hand. Recipient of numerous service awards.
