Summary
Deafened at age 11 from spinal meningitis; attended and graduated the Utah School for the Deaf in 1936. B.A. from Gallaudet College, 1941, M.A. from California State University, 1965, and Ed.D. from Brigham Young University, 1974. Married Mary Margaret Anonietti in 1946. Varied jobs included chemist for U.S. Bureau of Mines, draftsman for a county recorder's office, 20 years as a vocational rehabilitation counselor in Utah, director of Utah Community Center for the Deaf, adjunct professor at University of Utah and Utah State University, and finally instructor adjunct at Weber State University and University of Utah until final retirement in 1995. President of the National Association of the Deaf 1954-1968; active in other deaf organizations and boards.
