Anobis, Denise Catherine

Born at St. John's, NF; deaf at 10 months from rubella. Attended three different Canadian schools for the deaf, finally graduating the Ontario School for the Deaf. First worked in a factory, then as a government clerk before starting work with Canada Post in 1976. Several office jobs and transfers finally led to a promotion as a full-time mail carrier in 2000, in the Winnipeg area. Common-law spouse was Frank Leon Funk, also deaf.
