Hilton, Helen Joyce Buchanan

Born deaf at Halifax, NS; Halifax School for the Deaf 1 year before transferring to the Interprovincial School for the Deaf in 1961, graduating 1971. Took further training as a keypunch operator, then worked for several corporations for a total of 22 years. Carpal tunnel syndrome and surgery forced her to drop out of the workforce for 4 years; she took a 1-year course in website design and maintenance and started a new career as a website specialist.
