Summary
Attended the California School for the Deaf, Berkeley, then dropped out in 1944. Worked as a wool presser for a while, then at an aircraft factory. Got married, then after a time switched to printing. Also worked as a peddler from time to time. In his youth, passed up or missed several opportunities to become a stucent at Gallaudet College. Became an activist for the deaf in the San Diego area and a counselor for the deaf. Later lost his job when he was displaced by Gallaudet graduates having the degrees and certificates that he didn't. This stimulated him to finally become a Gallaudet student, at age 55.
