Summary
Born at Cherokee, NC; entered the North Carolina School for the Deaf, Morganton, in 1951 and graduated 1963. Took summer courses in industrial arts at East Carolina University. Retired from his original job during the 1990s, but an 8-year project to acquire 280 acres of land, build and operate a golf course near Morganton reached fruition when it opened in April 2003. Married to Georganne Kaye Brown, also deaf.
