Theberge, Carole Willians

Hard of hearing; born at Ottawa, ON and deafened by an accident at age 4. Graduated regular public schools and studied civil law at the University of Ottawa. Began work in private practice 1981-1990, then worked 1 year as executive director of the Canadian Hard of Hearing Association. From 1992 onward she joined the Canadian Department of Justice as a counsel (lawyer) in the Criminal Law Policy Section and remained there for over 10 years, working in the area of criminal law pertaining to persons with disabilities.
