Summary
As a senior at the Illinois School for the Deaf, appealed to the Convention of American Instructors of the Deaf for a chance for deaf women to get a college education. Coincidentally or not, the following year (1887) Gallaudet College opened its doors to women and she enrolled there, graduating in 1893.
