McFarlane, John

Born at Ottowa, Canada; family emigrated to the U.S. when he was small; deafened at age 16; graduated the Minnesota School for the deaf; B.A. (1907) and M.A. from Gallaudet College. Teacher at the Nebraska School for 4 years, and at the Alabama School; retired 1948. Editor and contributor to the Alabama School's The messenger, 1914-1948; contributor and photographer for Silent Worker; died at Atlanta, GA.
