Summary
Born at Montreal and deafened at 5 months of age from an illness. Spent early school years in mainstreamed public schools in Ottawa, then trahsferred to and graduated the Manitoba School for the Deaf, graduating 1971. Two years at Gallaudet College, but left in 1973 to marry Gwyn Jones, also deaf, and raise a family. About 20 years later she returned to college and graduated the University of Manitoba in 1996, the first deaf woman to graduate that school. Worked as a teacher at the Manitoba School for the Deaf beginning in 1996.
