Summary
Deaf at 6 months, supposedly from a fall in a bathtub. Attended the Manitoba School for the Deaf 1930-1940. Worked as a carpenter, cabinet maker, and furniture finisher, but became a full-time baseball umpire in 1946, attending an umpiring school in 1947. Umpired almost 5000 games over a period of 50 years in the Edmonton, Alberta area. Married Nettie Lois Noble in 1950.
