Cartter, George H.

Born at Brighton, NY; deafened by illness at 3. Education began in public and private hearing schools and was finished at the Illinois School for the deaf. Worked as a printer, then in 1891 switched to electrical work, eventually rising to chief inspector of a telephone manufacturing plant.
