Seilliere, Roger de

Deafened at about age 2 by scarlet fever and privately tutored. His parents were very wealthy, so he never had to work for a living. Since his younger hearing brothers inherited the estate, he spent his time traveling all around the world. A frequent visitor to New York City, he died there after one world trip from complications of Bright's disease. After a memorial service in St. Patrick's Cathedral, the body was shipped back to France to be interred in the family plot at St. Melo.
